TEACHING PRIVATE VOICE LESSONS
One of the biggest challenges in designing instruction for a private music studio is selecting worthwhile repertoire for students who may not want to sing beyond their preferred genre. Like all teachers, I have my “go-to” pieces that tend to fill in the gaps, but I know I am a much better educator when I select pieces tailored to individual students.
To expand my repertoire library, I’ve spent the past year researching different books, vocal scores, folk songs, and soundtracks. Allow me to share a few resources I’ve compiled and found to be useful. Each Song includes range, ability level, and concepts to teach. Click on the links to the left to download each list.
